Glottkin Complete!

Hey there 40kegger fans, Jordan here and I just wanted to post up some WIP, and completed Pics of the Glottkin model I started just before X-mas.

Now, as many of you know I have a particular dislike for painting.  I find it tedious, boring, and time consuming.  However a couple weeks before I got the model I had bought a rather cheap airbrush and thought that the Glottking model would be a good test of it's capabilities.  Lo and behold, painting this model got me fired up and excited to paint MORE things!

Well, without further ado, here is my journey in pictures.
This model was one of the hardest models I've ever had to assemble.  He's all hollow, and build up piece by piece startig with the legs.  After it was all said and done, I had a small gap in the back of his neck that I had to fill with green stuff.

The flesh started off with a general flesh tone, then I added grey to it and highlighted because I knew that the wash I was going to use was going to darken it drastically.  The new airbrush worked well, but I still need some practice with it.  Oddly enough I met a guy at Legiocon named Jeff who does some painting demos at Maxx Collectibles.  Looking forward to that.

I covered all "sore" areas with red, then went over the open wounds with a darker red.  At this point I thought I had gone completely overboard with the red and thought I might have to back and start over.  I decided that the more I paint, the more it would take away from the red and decided to forge on ahead.

I painted all the boils a sickly green and painted all the eyes white and then went over the open wounds with a purple wash in the hopes it would give it a bruised look.  How many eyes you ask?  Well there is one on his back in the above pic, and...
...at least 18 more in various locations, mostly on his ass for some reason.

After painting these teeth, which are set in his stomach and are biting on to his...belt??? I realized I should have painted the belt first, then the teeth.  Oh well.  Also, there is another eye.

Here is the last pic before I give it the wash.  I finished the horns, using the airbrush to tip them with black.  I painted all the eyes, which I think was my favorite part, despite how much it creeped me out.  Lastly his butt flap was painted.

AND NOW FOR THE GRAND FINALE!!

So, there you have it.  The was I used ended up being a little shinier that I anticipated, but I don't mind too much.  It makes him look slimy, and he is a giant fucking mutated beast of Nurgle, so he probably doesn't bathe much.

Well, there you have it.  Thanks guys for following me along and sticking it out to the end and I hope that some of you can use this as a bit of motivation to get that painting bug in you.

Good luck and Happy Gaming.
