New for 2014, we will be holding a 2 day event at 40KEGGER 6.
General
Rules >>
Players are required to submit their Army Lists before the start of the event (more
details listed below for Day 1 and Day 2).
Armies must consist of a Primary Detachment, and may include one Allied Detachment OR one Inquisitorial Detachment. (Dataslate Detachments and Dataslate Formations will not be part of this event).
Codex Supplements will be allowed.
Escalation expansion rules will not be part of this event.
Stronghold Assault expansion rules will not be part of this event.
Warlord Traits must be chosen when players submit their army lists. A player will choose a trait(s) from the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook, or from their Codex/Supplement (or be forced to take certain traits for some Special Characters). The trait chosen will remain the same throughout each portion (day) of the event. A player may choose a different trait for their Cooperative list (1500 point list) since they may also have different HQ choices for that list.
Fortifications found in the main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook will be allowed with the exception of the Fortress of Redemption, as it interferes with certain custom scenarios. Players should note that terrain cannot be moved prior to a game. Any fortification that cannot be legally deployed will be counted as destroyed for that game.
Units from Imperial Armour and Imperial Armour Apocolypse will be allowed as long as they are not identified as exclusive to Apocalypse.
Units from Games Workshop Digital Editions, Dataslates will be allowed as long as they are not identified as exclusive to Apocalypse or identified as detachments or formations.
VDR vehicles and Chapter Approved lists will not be permitted.
In addition, as a rule of thumb, any units with more than 4 Hull Points (ie: Super-Heavies) and Gargantuan Creatures will not be part of this event.
A Codex released less than 30 days before the event will be subject to a Club vote.
Any further tournament rules and unit/list inclusions will be subject to a Club vote.

At the outcome of each game, players will score each other up to 5 Points using the MIF Scoring Checklist. Those results will then be applied to a player's Single MIF Score.

Day 1 - Single Player Tournament >>
Each player will bring a 1000 point army list following the General Rules.
The Single Player Tournament will consist of 3 games.
At the outcome of each game, players will earn points towards their Single Player Score. Players will earn 7 Points for a each Crushing Victory, 5 Points for each Victory, 2.5 Points for each Draw, and 1.5 Points for each Defeat, following the rules from the Scenarios provided.
At the outcome of each game, players will score each other up to 5 Points using the MIF Scoring Checklist. Those results will then be applied to a player's Single MIF Score.
Day 2 - Cooperative Play >>
Each player will bring a 1500 point army list following the General Rules, with a few exceptions listed within this section.
A player's Cooperative Play army list MUST be constructed using the same Codex/Supplement as their 1000 point army list. Therefore, a player's 1500 point list must be effectively the "same army" as their 1000 point army list. The degree of continuity between a player's 1000 and 1500 point list will be recognized in a player's Theme Score during Miniatures judging.
Cooperative Play will consist of 2 long games.
At the outcome of each game, players will earn points towards their Cooperative Score. Each player on a team will earn 12 Points for a each Crushing Victory, 10 Points for a each Victory, 5 Points for each Draw, and 3 Points for each Loss, following the rules from the Scenarios provided.
At the outcome of each game, teams will score each other up to 5 Points using the MIF Scoring Checklist. Each player on a team will then apply that result to their Cooperative MIF Score.
Cooperative Play games are played by teams of 2 players who will act as two detachments forming a single 3000 point army. The 2 players in a team will therefore complete their turns cooperatively, acting as a single army.
The two players in a team will always treat each other as two detachments that are Allies of Convenience, even if they would otherwise normally be better or worse. The term "detachment" is used to describe the Cooperative Play system and does not restrict the Force Organization for the two players. Each player must still have a Warlord and will have full access to the Force Organization as if they were playing a normal game.
Miniatures Scoring >>
Players can earn up to 15 points for their hobby efforts in the form of an Appearance Score. During the lunch break on Day 2, the 40kegger staff will carefully assess each army (1000 point and 1500 point combined) at the event. Up to 10 points are awarded using the following checklist, with each item worth 1 point:
[ ] Army was painted by the player
[ ] Entire army is painted (at least 3 colors)
[ ] Highlighting techniques were used throughout army (hard edge, drybrushing, airbrushing, etc.)
[ ] Shading techniques were used throughout army (washes, shades, inks, etc.)
[ ] Conversions are evident on some miniatures
[ ] Freehand was used on some miniatures
[ ] Small details are completed throughout army (eyes, gems, pouches, etc.)
[ ] Environmental effects were used throughout army (weathering, wear, slime, etc.)
[ ] Squad markings, unit differentiation, or unit grouping elements were used
[ ] Basing is completed throughout army
In addition to the checklist, players can earn up to 5 points for additional efforts, impressive brushwork, and overall mastery of certain techniques.
Players can earn up to 10 points in their Theme Score. Again, during the lunch break on Day 2, the 40kegger staff will consider the continuity of each player's Day 1 and Day 2 lists, along with the overall theme of those armies.
MIF Scoring Checklist >>
For Single Player games on Day 1, a player will complete a form for each of his opponents. For Cooperative Play games on day, teams will score each other and the two players on each team will apply that result to their Cooperative MIF Score.
